FIRST THE LIGHT. NOW THE COLD.

World News (The Hive) · 4 November, briefing from 12 October to 2 November. Twice in three weeks, supermarket fridges in Europe were heated. Not by hand in a back room, but over the network. In October in France, about seven hundred stores. On the night of 2 November in five countries at once. The French minister called it a matter of food security. Who is doing this is not named in the reports.

Table 5 · Corporations · 2 November · AP, Irish Times, ERR.

They say: on the night of 2 November, the temperature in the units at the Swedish ICA Kvantum in Sjöbo reached plus fifty and the food was thrown away; six Coop stores were hit. In Belgium and Luxembourg, several dozen Delhaize stores; at Carrefour, 15 out of more than 700. In Ireland, SuperValu removed chilled and frozen food from 13 stores. In Estonia, Jann Mutso, head of Kitman Coldtech: the temperature was raised to plus fifty and fixed within minutes. AP · Irish Times · ERR

Decoding 1379: between the field and the table, the cold is held by an intermediary, the unit's controller. It was reached over the network, in five countries in one night. Why?

The cold was turned off over the network. The food was thrown away by hand.

Table 6 · State · 12..13 October · AP.

They say: France's economy minister Roland Lescure told Parliament that about 700 of the country's 10,000 supermarkets were hit; the attack "touches the heart of our food security"; "It was a wake-up call for everyone." Food supplies, he said, face no risk. Intermarché and Netto: 300 stores; Coopérative U: 80 out of 2,000. Coopérative U chief Dominique Schelcher on X: "Targeting equipment essential to the preservation of fresh products is an attack on the French food supply chain." The Paris prosecutor's cybercrime unit is investigating, including reports of fires. AP, 13.10

Decoding 1379: two words were spoken from the podium: "food security". Three weeks later the units were being heated in five countries. Why?

The minister called it a "wake-up call". The call was repeated.

Table 6 · State · Law and norm · Finnish Food Authority.

They say: the EU's NIS2 cybersecurity directive (2022/2555) is in force. According to the Finnish Food Authority, in the food sector it covers wholesale distribution, industrial production and processing. Retail, storage and transport are not in scope. A company in scope must give an early warning within 24 hours of a significant incident, a notification within 72 hours and a final report within a month. Ruokavirasto, updated 17.07.2026

Decoding 1379: the law on food cybersecurity lists wholesale, factory and processing. The shop counter, storage and transport are not on that list. Why?

Wholesale and factory are on the list. The counter is not.

Table 4 · Science · Claroty Team82, The Register.

They say: Claroty's Team82 researchers described a hidden login mechanism in Danfoss AK-SM 800A refrigeration management systems that "could be abused to completely bypass the normal login process". According to The Register, the system accepted a daily code derived from the device's own date instead of the administrator password; Danfoss released fixes in August 2025. As of 12 October 2026, a Shodan search showed more than 4,500 internet-exposed Danfoss controller interfaces, over half of them in France. Security researcher Kevin Beaumont called the exploit a "zero-skill thing to pull off". The authorities have not named the entry point or confirmed that these vulnerabilities were used. Claroty · The Register, 13.10

Decoding 1379: the key to the cold was derived from the calendar on the panel itself. More than four and a half thousand panels sit on the open network. Why?

The calendar knew the password to the cold.

Table 5 · Corporations · Money and credit · 30 October · Teleborsa.

They say: the European Central Bank selected Nexi, together with Deutsche Telekom, as one of two network connectivity providers for the digital euro. The network will connect the data centres of the digital euro platform and give banks and national central banks access to it; it will also support the pilot project. A ten-year contract. The announcement gives no date for issuing the digital euro. Teleborsa, 30.10

Decoding 1379: the wire for money is being laid ten years ahead. The date when money will run through it was not named. Why?

The network for money is ordered for ten years. The date for the money was not named.

Table 5 · Corporations · Food, production and supply chains · Danfoss, Coopérative U · 12..13 October.

They say: on 12 October, Denmark's Danfoss, whose systems manage cooling in shops, said it was "aware of incidents in France affecting a limited number of refrigeration management systems"; the affected units "were running outdated firmware". AP quoted the company on 13 October: "Danfoss has long advised customers to keep supported systems updated with the latest firmware." Coopérative U chief Dominique Schelcher said his chain is not a Danfoss customer. Irish Examiner, 12.10 · AP, 13.10 · The Register, 13.10

Decoding 1379: how long food lives on the counter now also depends on the firmware version in the back room. Why?

Product freshness is now written in the firmware version number.

Table 4 · Science · AI and algorithm · Claroty Team82, 13 October.

They say: on 13 October, Team82 published the report "Firmware to Root in 30 Minutes". A researcher gave Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.6, running in the Cursor code editor, a laboratory Danfoss AK-SM 800A controller. The model reproduced three already known and already patched vulnerabilities and gained full (root) access on the lab device. From the start of the analysis to a working exploit took about 28 minutes; the model's work cost about six dollars. It found no new vulnerabilities; a human guided it and corrected it when it went off track. The report does not confirm that these vulnerabilities were used in France. ActuIA, 20.10 · NeoTeo, 14.10

Decoding 1379: a known hack of a cooling panel was reproduced by a machine in half an hour for six dollars. A human held the wheel. Why?

Half an hour and six dollars: that is what a machine needs to reproduce the cooling hack.

Condition

Three weeks. The night of 12 October: France, about seven hundred supermarkets, a minister says "the heart of our food security". The night of 2 November: Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Estonia, Ireland, up to plus fifty in the units, food thrown away. As of 12 October, more than 4,500 Danfoss cooling control panels were exposed on the open internet, over half of them in France. Who did it is not named in these reports: the prosecutor is investigating. All day today I am putting only originals on the table: where this was shown before it happened, who spoke about it from the podium, and what is written about it in documents. Why?
